Design competition entry with a powerful environmental strategy that addresses specific microclimates delivering a unified vision.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, PRP developed a competition entry for a new urban district in Jintan, China. The team provided landscape architecture and urban design as well as advice on sustainability issues and building schematics. The design integrates the landscape with the environmental strategy of the dwellings, providing specific microclimates for differing aspects and managing surface water run-off. Open water, rills and swales were integrated with communal gardens, avenues and public open spaces to create distinct character areas within a single vision.
