Donskaya, Moscow

Client: Vedis
Role: Architecture

A few minutes drive from the Red Square, this 12 hectare, self-contained, residential mixed use development overlooks the gardens of a fourteenth-century monastery in its backdrop.

Both serene as well as central, the site rendered itself to be ideally utilised for private residential living as well as emerge as a prime cultural destination due to proximity to a historical landmark.

The project thereby entailed the development of 500 luxury residential units with exclusive penthouses in variegated residential blocks of six to ten storeys organised around the perimeter of the site, providing uninterrupted vistas of a sward of private recreational landscape visually extending into the grounds of the monastery. As part of the redevelopment, an existing industrial building is to be retained and refurbished as an Arts centre and leisure facilities are being provided for residents alongside a new lake.
