Rising Star Award 2013

In memory of Mel Starrs, who believed passionately in creating a better built environment, UKGBC and PRP have created this unique award for an outstanding innovator in the building industry who has acted as a catalyst for change in relation to sustainability and environmental performance.

The Rising Star Award, in its inaugural year in 2013, will be awarded to a member of the building industry who is judged to have enabled change in relation to sustainability and environmental performance in their sector.

The award will recognise the winner's vision and success in driving change in the industry. Candidates will be passionate individuals who have used innovative ways of sharing knowledge, communicating and promoting ideas, engaging with others, changing working methods, challenging policy, promoting or improving performance in relation to sustainability. Entries related to individuals from all disciplines and sectors operating in the built environment are welcomed.

We are inviting you to submit nominations for this award with each submission being no more than 250 words, stating why the person you are nominating should receive this award.

The closing date for nominations is 25 January 2013.

The award will be presented to the winner at Ecobuild in March 2013.
