St. Mary's and St. Peter's Primary School in the London Open House

PRP's St. Mary's and St. Peter's Primary School in Teddington has been recently completed this summer and has been accepted to be part of the London Open House event.

The school was expanded from 2 Forms of Entry to 3 Forms of Entry. Our project provides 7 additional classrooms and enhanced pupil and staff facilities as well as a new main entrance, a larger school hall and a new kitchen. The playground areas have also been redesigned to optimize their play potential and to create opportunities for outdoors learning.

The extended building wraps around the west and the south of the existing buildings in order to provide a fresh, modern and coherent appearance for the whole school.

The project achieves BREEAM Excellent and has 20% renewable energy generated on site via air source heat pumps.

This was our first ever in-house Revit project. Darryl Store started the project in Revit during the feasibility stage and I joined the team to deliver the planning submission and the Tender package. It was a steep learning curve in the use of Revit and lot of valuable lessons were learned!
