PRP's Kidbrooke Proposals Awarded Planning

Created on 07.04.2010

PRP’s proposals for Extra Care Housing on the Ferrier Estate, which form part of phase two of the regeneration programme being built by Berkeley Homes, have now received planning permission with the support of CABE and the HCA. The project sets an important precedent in placing attractive housing for older people at the heart of an urban regeneration scheme. The design embraces many of the core principles and recommendations set out by the recently published Housing our Ageing Population Panel for Innovation (HAPPI) report.

Roger Battersby, MD of PRP comments: “We are delighted to have achieved unanimous planning approval and we believe this project will be an exemplar in terms of design and quality standards for older people. Our design challenges the central corridor typology in Extra Care housing and provides retirement housing and a community resource at the heart of a key regeneration programme.”

PRP is an award winning, multi - disciplinary architectural practice, with offices throughout the UK and in Moscow, Abu Dhabi and China.
