Church End Estate, London Borough of Brent

Client: Fortunegate Community Housing (part of Catalyst Housing Group)
Role: Architecture, Options Appraisal, Masterplanning and Resident Consultation

A consultation driven, regeneration project that has delivered social and economic improvements to the area.

Church End and Roundwood encompass the refurbishment of approximately 600 homes and the redevelopment of 739 homes. Following a residents’ ballot in March 1998, all three estates transferred from London Borough of Brent to a local housing company, Fortunegate Community Housing.

Working in partnership with the London Borough of Brent, Catalyst Housing Group and residents since 1996, PRP has regenerated the rundown estate through a phased 11 year redevelopment prorgamme. A complex decanting programme has enabled residents remain in their desired area with an increased sense of pride and ownership generated by the area improvements.

A community centre and two large landscape public spaces have been provided to support the needs of the growing community.
