Our schools projects are attractive, nurturing and stimulating environments; safe and secure places that are conducive to learning. We design them to be flexible and multi-functional, not just to accommodate the day to day demands of student or teaching life but also to accommodate changes to teaching methodologies and, as importantly, open up their use to the wider community in which they reside.
Consultation is critical and we have developed our own unique consultation process, working with complex user groups and multiple stakeholders, including students, to ensure that our designs reflect a thorough understanding of the context, the people, the education process and the Government's programme of learning reform. Our approach is based on six key principles:
We work closely with our clients to define the technical, spatial and statutory requirements along with the schools own aspirations for their venue - as technology and the approach to learning changes, so too do our designs, interpreting how buildings, spaces , both indoor and out, respond to new attitudes to learning and all measures of excellence.
We have built a strong reputation in designing sustainable projects and want to take this as far as we can in our school designs. We can utilise modern methods of construction to reduce construction time, building defects and to improve efficiency. We also incorporate cost effective energy saving features into our proposals to reduce the carbon emissions and energy consumption of our school buildings as far as possible.
