Montealmenara, Spain

Client: Lifeland
Role: Architecture and Masterplanning

This new luxury holiday destination creates economic growth for local communities and an attractive long term life choice for retiring foreigners.

Montealmenara is a new leisure and residential development close to the Mediterranean coast, 30 kilometres north of Valencia in Spain. Located on an attractive steeply sloping site, it has stunning views over the sea and two PGA standard golf courses.

On completion, it will comprise over 1,200 homes, a hotel, leisure and educational facilities, shops, restaurants and clubhouse. The development aims to create a unique new community that appeals to all walks of life. The varied scheme is expected to attract younger local people looking to set up a new home as well as locals or foreigners wishing to buy a holiday home. Full healthcare support facilities also make this an ideal retirement home for people looking for a place in the sun.

At the heart of the residential zone lies a piazza with a restaurant and café overlooking a luxurious pool. The piazza acts as a focus for the development and meeting place for residents and visitors.
