Oak Village, Montenegro

Client: Montenegro Investment and Land Holdings
Role: Masterplanning, Architecture and Landscape Architecture

Set on a hilly and wild piece of land, Oak Village is a luxury resort that maximises the spectacular setting offered by its distinctive typography.

Oak Village is a 15 hectare self-contained luxury development in Montenegro, with 300 apartments and villas, boutique hotel, restaurants and bars, shops, swimming pool, health spa and conference centre.

The site is located in a southerly-orientated valley in the shape of an amphitheatre; this piece of land offers stunning views towards the coast, protected from the north by a mountain chain.

At the village centre lies a piazza, generating a vibrant, lively environment with a sense of exclusivity from a well serviced resort community. It includes a boutique hotel with indoor swimming pool, health & beauty spa, restaurants and bars, children’s play area, retail spaces and outdoor sport activities. A collection of village house types around narrow paths and steep stairs in some areas is complemented by detached luxury villas or semi-detached townhouses.

A comprehensive low energy strategy has been designed incorporating a sustainable infrastructure solution using local and renewable energy sources alongside a design sympathetic to local vernacular architecture, integrating strong landscape design and rendering services invisible.
