The Beregovoi development will create an iconic impression on the Moscow skyline. The 12.5 hectare site is dominated by six dramatic towers ranging in height from 22 to 28 storeys alongside a series of six to eight storey blocks. The 13,000m² mixed use area includes a mini shopping centre, fitness centre, quayside café, ‘complex’ restaurant, beauty salon and a car wash.
The contemporary design proposals respond to the social, economic and environmental challenges of this up and coming area; attracting high achieving Muscovites.
Designed with health and well-being, the scheme celebrates its location by maximising outdoor spaces, with riverside walks and winter gardens. A strategy to control microclimate was devised incorporating water features and tree planting around the site to regulate any rise in temperatures, and to avoid the formation of an urban heat island.
An energy strategy has been proposed following a feasibility study which recommends a CHP plant and renewable technologies on site. The strategy has been produced to ensure that all buildings comply with Russian Code of Energy Efficiency Standards. The code considers 'energy use' goals for the residents, lowering energy requirements, and the cost of living.
