High-density mixed use community built on the former Hither Green Hospital site.

Completed in 2008, this scheme provides 554 new build dwellings, of which 13 provide an element of employment use and are live work units. A doctor's surgery, dental practice, creche and office space are incorporated within a number of retained buildings which have been sensitively restored and remodelled.

A private leisure facility is incorporated within one of the residential buildings and a Tesco Metro retail store provides residents within the scheme and the immediate neighbourhood with shopping facilities. The architecture is unique to this area and does not seek to mimic the established Victorian and Edwardian terraces of the surrounding area. Our view was to create a new, vibrant and contemporary mixed use development which would be appealing to all ages and social groups. Our design received praise from CABE.
