Regeneration can take many forms. For instance, on local authority owned estates, failing areas can be transformed into attractive and desirable places to live, work and play. For private and social housing developers, regeneration provides the opportunity to maximise the development potential of existing land and provide an integrated mix of tenures and affordable homes. For residents and home owners, regeneration signifies the opportunity to recapture a sense of pride in where they live.
We work with all stakeholders and have a good track record in working with community groups. We understand the processes for designing, procuring and delivering new and refurbished, publicly subsidised housing projects.
Remodelling of existing buildings is often a preferred option, particularly on tower blocks. Whether we are improving and refurbishing existing buildings, or rebuilding following demolition, we are equally concerned with the spaces between buildings as with the buildings themselves.
We help clients generate value to cross-subsidise the provision of public sector housing through maximising land value. We help public sector landlords to retain and inwardly invest in their stock over its lifetime, and manage the design implications in terms of community engagement, management, maintenance, service charges and affordable warmth.
We also help our clients achieve targets set by CABE and Building for Life to build affordable homes to higher design quality, with improved environmental performance to satisfy the Code for Sustainable Homes.
