The Origin development lies adjacent to the Rochdale canal and the lively Canal street district and comprises three towers containing a hotel, commercial and residential dwellings.

The design was influenced by the post cotton, weaving industries of the area. The floorscape was like gathered pieces of material, folded to create focal points, seating and tree planters. Dramatic lighting emphasises the shape and shadows created, and the paving colours echo the colours of the local cloth.
