The Park, Marriot Hotel, Abu Dhabi

The Park, home to the new Marriot hotel in Abu Dhabi, is a mixed use development of 90,000m² consisting of a 9-storey hotel and offices with related amenities.

A clever design harnessing of the benefits of the natural environment through passive design measures and daylighting considerations will reduce energy consumption and improve the overall efficiency of the development.

Our design takes into consideration the key issues of Abu Dhabi’s Estidama New Building guidelines. Additionally, the core requirements of LEED were considered to ensure that the building can be assessed for LEED certification.

The analysis of the environmental aspects included among others water conservation, renewable technology, ecological enhancement, indoor environmental quality. Additional areas of consideration included selection of materials with low environmental impact, travel plans and waste management plans as well as a system of ongoing management facilities to limit the environmental impact of the hotel.
