Trafford has a chronic shortage of affordable homes which is illustrated through the Housing Market Assessment, showing that over 500 new homes are needed per year with Trafford Housing Trust having a waiting list of over 8000 people for 9000 homes.
In partnership with Wates Living Space and Trafford Housing Trust, PRP has delivered a stunning new £9 million development in Lostock, Trafford. The development at Ripon Crescent has 69 homes in total, 45 for social affordable rent and 24 for open market sale to ensure a mixed community was provided in the area. The development contains 36 apartments and 33 houses which were supported through a grant from the Homes and Community Agency for £2.1 million.
Three of the large family homes were developed in partnership with Arawak Walton H.A., a local BME social housing provider who now manages these properties.
The scheme has been developed on a site where degenerated flats had previously attracted anti-social behaviour, high levels of crime and a high turnover of property. These issues had a wider impact on the Lostock area and resulted in it being designated as an area in need of Regeneration by both Trafford Council and Trafford Housing Trust.
