Client: Foundation of Economical Development of the South Moscow Economic School
Role: Architecture
The state of the art educational and recreational facility for children aged 3 to 17 years old in Moscow.
A new private school for the Foundation of Economic Development in Moscow provides 15,000m² of educational and recreational facilities.
The heart of the school is a major double height entrance and meeting space with daylight streaming in from above. Language and arts classrooms adjoin this space along with the administrative and dining facilities. Linear study blocks either side are linked to this space by glazed bridges crossing a vertical winter garden zone. The main sports pavilion is designed to be a modular lightweight construction.
The school will be built in two phases with the nursery and primary school being the first which will also include an administrative building, medical and dining facilities, a small sports pavilion and swimming pool. This first phase is designed to operate independently from the rest of the school whilst also being physically linked and an integral part of the whole.
