Bow Cross, London - An award-winning project, having gained Affordable Housing Project of the Year 2007. Located close to the Olympic site, Bow Cross represents a significant London estate regeneration project; providing almost 400 new homes and creating a safe community environment to live.

The early 1970s Crossways Estate in Bow is a flagship of the LBTH Housing for Choice programme. The project includes cross-subsidy funding for PRP's masterplan which includes new housing for rent and sale, substantial new infrastructure and the full refurbishment of the existing towers. The design has been developed to create a secure, sustainable, high quality environment for residents. The flats are designed to generous space standards with large balconies and storage. Careful consideration has been given to the quality of the communal areas and entrances. The existing towers will be fully re-clad and re-fitted internally to provide high quality, low energy homes. The scheme uses offsite manufacturing. The predominant system is a timber framed structure, whilst the tallest block will utilise prefabricated infill façade panels within a reinforced concrete frame.

The refurbishment of three 25 storey towers creates an important local landmark and symbol of regeneration, with rooftop lighting visible throughout the Borough. Integrated landscaping, the creation of communal courtyards, ground remodelling, a new road and bridge structures create a layout which positively transforms estate and compliments the surrounding urban environment.
