David is a Chartered Landscape Architect and Urban Designer. He joined the firm in 2003 and is responsible for overseeing landscape and urban design expertise within the practice. Work responsibilities also include the preparation of development frameworks, design statements and master plans for new settlements, urban extensions and urban regeneration areas. He is a member of PRP’s Sustainability Steering Group and is particularly interested in championing sustainable design and achieving successful design solutions through an integrated approach to the design of the external and built environment.

His previous experience included leading Arup Environmental’s landscape and urban design team. Work responsibilities included international appointments covering environmental and sustainability assessment, strategic policy, brownfield/land restoration, master planning, streetscape and urban and landscape design. Countries include USA, Chile, Ireland, Poland, Egypt, and the British Overseas Territories.

Immediately following the inception of the GLA, David worked for three years on a part-time secondment basis as an urban design advisor to the Planning Decisions Unit, inputting into UDP review, policy formulation, appraising strategic referrals and preparing conceptual masterplans for key development sites within London.

Whilst at Arup, David was the lead environmental consultant for the SHELCO St Helena Project. The scheme proposed air access to the island of St Helena, in conjunction with facilitating economic independence and major landscape and environmental restoration initiatives. Currently he is on a term appointment in collaboration with Faber Maunsell to the Department for International Development, providing environmental Terms of Reference for the St Helena Air Access project.

David has approximately 22 years professional working experience, 9 years of which have been involved directly in settlement strategy, design and implementation.

David attended Leeds Metropolitan University and the University of Westminster and became an Associate Director at PRP in 2004.
