John kickstarted his career in architecture by working on housing rehabilitation projects and single person housing for a Housing Action Area in the London Borough of Lambeth.

In 1979, he joined PRP and started specialising in residential and mixed-use schemes of all sizes for both Housing Associations and private developers. Landmark projects included competition wins for private housing developments in Hampshire and Westminster, one of which incorporated leisure facilities. John is also renowned for his work on large social housing projects in Chingford, which received a Civic Trust Commendation and a number of smaller housing schemes in Hillingdon and Basingstoke. More recent developments include urban regeneration projects in Stockwell and Greenford, private residential developments in Chatham, mixed-use developments in Chelmsford and student accommodation in Worthing. John has also assisted in securing planning approval as an expert witness at a Public Inquiry.

A published writer, John was the principal author, writing the design sections of CIRIA special publication 97 “Environmental Handbook for Building & Civil Engineering Projects” published in 1994.

In 1999, John was appointed a group leader of PRP’s Ferry Works in Thames Ditton and is responsible for a team of over 60 staff.

John studied at Kingston Polytechnic and became a Board Director in October 2001.
