Richard joined PRP in 2005, his expertise lies in retail, commercial and mixed use design. As a senior architect within PRP, he has been responsible for completing design exercises for mixed use schemes at Wembley comprising 240 residential units, 650 student residential units, a multi-level retail precinct and community facilities. Currently, he is involved in the design of large scale mixed-use developments in the Republic of China and various scheme bids.
Richard began his professional career as a partner with Derick Henstra Architects in Cape Town, South Africa. After leaving the practice in 1992, he established a practice which focused on architecture as well as interiors and furniture. Projects undertaken during this time included, motor showrooms for Mercedes Benz and Hyundai, interiors for the BMW Imax Pavillion, studios for film production and advertising agencies, restaurants, retail interiors, and two lines of furniture.
In 1997 he became the sole practitioner of Richard Tremeer & Associates, outsourcing skills and/or forming associations with practices as dictated by projects or workload. Projects included motor showrooms; advertising agency and designer outlet interiors and various display and furniture items.
Richard spent 4 years employed as a senior architect with a Dublin based practice where he designed an hotel, golf clubhouse, a nursing home, extensions to the National Yacht Club, several restaurants and various residential led mixed-use developments.
