Associate Director Stephen Hynds is a key member of the Specialist Housing and Healthcare group. His wealth of experience in specialist housing has established him as one of the industry’s leading architects in the design of care homes, extra care housing and retirement communities. Before joining PRP in 1999, Stephen built up an impressive body of work in the commercial and private housing sectors.
Significant projects include private houses, social housing and refurbishment schemes in Bristol, mixed use commercial developments in Central London, remodelling of a community hospital in Somerset and the development of a new-build mental health 'campus' in Wiltshire. He also acquired considerable expertise in working with listed buildings.
At PRP, Stephen has been the driving force behind a number of significant projects including a series of developments for St Charles Hospital in North Kensington. He has also helped the Willesden Centre for Health and Care through the PFI process and managed the design and procurement of several care homes for nursing care and dementia care. He is currently project managing the detailed design and construction of a major £50m phased retirement village in Buckinghamshire.
Stephen completed his architectural training at Bristol University.
