Alan originally kick started his career as a technician and qualified as an architect in 1981. A five-year stint in South Africa, where he worked as a Senior Architect for the Electricity Supply Commission and Anglo-American Mining Group, was followed by positions back in the UK with developers McCarthy and Stone, and Fairview New Homes.
Since joining PRP in 2004, Alan has expanded his repertoire to include both large and small scale residential developments and has worked across the private and public sector on housing projects. A champion of good housing design, Alan is actively involved in the practice’s work in design standards, as well as his key role in managing staff resources and office finances.
Key projects include include Temple Cowley, Oxford, which involved the detailed planning for 113 flats and houses, including 10 apartments in the retained frontage school building. Alan also leads Phase 1 of the Campbell Park project, which was a Milton Keynes Stage II competition to English Partnerships on behalf of Bellway for 240/280 residential units. He is also driving the mixed-use development at Monkston, won through a competitive bid, in Milton Keynes for Ashwell Developments, to provide 107 flats/houses plus retail units and a community centre.
Trained at Newcastle University and Liverpool University, Alan became a Director in April 2006.
