PP For PRP’S £9.5M Newbury Retirement Scheme

A 100 home retirement scheme, designed by PRP, has been granted planning permission. The new homes in Newbury, Berkshire, will transform a brownfield site close to the centre of town and provide mixed tenure sheltered accommodation for Sovereign Housing.

The accommodation will consist of one and two bedroom apartments for the over 55s, all of which are well in excess of the Housing Corporation’s space standards. The majority of dwellings will have a bay window and balcony, and a number of ground floor flats will have terraces or private gardens.

Start on site is expected for March 2005.
