  • First phase to provide outright sale properties under Silwood Estate regeneration scheme

  • Phase 4 comprises 343 dwellings for London & Quadrant Housing Trust, Presentation and Tower Homes

PRP Architects Ltd, has just received planning consent for Phase 4 of the regeneration of Silwood Estate.

A total of 343 dwellings will be constructed under Phase 4. 239 of these have been designed for outright sale, ranging from one to three bedrooms, and will be developed by London & Quadrant Housing Trust (L&Q). The remaining 104 dwellings will be of different tenures and comprise a mix of flats and houses managed by Presentation, L&Q and Tower Homes, approximately 30% of which will be offered under shared ownership.

The estate straddles the London Borough of Lewisham and Southwark and is highly visible from the main railway lines serving London Bridge railway station. Phase 4 skirts Silwood Street, which runs alongside the railway line.

PRP Director, Brendan Kilpatrick, says: “A series of six-storey gateway blocks opening on to the street helps to transform the whole environment in that urban area.”

Building is expected to start on site in spring 2006.
