PRP wins Chester regeneration project

Our masterplan and design scheme for Lovell has been selected for the £16.5 million regeneration of Treborth Road in Chester.

PLUS Housing Group, CDS Housing Association and Chester & District Housing Trust highlighted that it had selected Lovell and its partners because of the company’s commitment to quality and its ability to deliver the vision of residents.

Funded with £3.7 million pounds of direct investment from Chester & District Housing Trust and a further £1.6 million pounds secured from the Housing Corporation through the PLUS Harvest Development Partnership, the scheme will see nearly 200 new homes built on the site, for rent and sale.

A detailed period of consultation with residents will now begin in preparation for the submission of a final planning proposal this autumn.

Paul Hulme, regional director for Lovell in the North West, said: “We are very excited to be working in partnership with Chester & District Housing Trust and local residents on this important regeneration scheme which will create much-needed affordable homes for rent and sale in the community. With the steady rise in house prices and rents making it extremely difficult for local people to find good housing accommodation, this development goes some way towards meeting local demand for low-cost homes.

“PRP’s design was instrumental to our submission bid. We have a long and established partnership with PRP and this project is testament to the quality of their work.”

Frances Chaplin, PRP Manchester’s director, added: “We’re very pleased to have won this project with Lovell. It underlines our commitment and ability to deliver sustainable, large scale regeneration schemes in the North West.”

The scheme is due to be completed in mid 2009.
