Andy von Bradsky has succeeded Barry Munday to become PRP’s new Chairman. Concurrently, Roger Battersby succeeds Chris Rudolf as PRP’s Managing Director. The changes take immediate effect as Barry Munday and Chris Rudolf retire from the practice.
Andy von Bradsky, Chairman, said: “Our clients and staff have known of our succession strategy for some time now. As long-standing Directors at PRP, Roger and I are committed to continue the practice ethos of excellence of design, commitment to client service and a thorough understanding of our markets – we want to provide great design and management skills to help to deliver truly vibrant and sustainable communities, whether that is here in the UK or abroad. We will continue to pursue the vision to make PRP the UK's leading practice in the living environment.
“The way forward for us is simple. We have built a strong Board of Directors, with a shared commitment and who, like Roger and I, have been with PRP for many years. Our project work now ranges from large-scale regeneration, high density mixed use, urban extensions in new growth areas, retirement projects as well as small scale innovative housing projects. Our environmental services team has seen an explosion in demand, and our international work is steadily growing, now taking us to Russia, China and a number of Eastern European countries. As a practice, we will continue to grow from strength to strength,” continued von Bradsky.
von Bradsky joined PRP in 1985 and became a Board Director in 1999. His experience has traditionally focused on large-scale housing and masterplanning projects. His involvement in large scale, high-profile regeneration programmes for public and private sector clients helped him to develop an expertise in urban regeneration on community based projects, including Waltham Forest HAT, Church End and Roundwood ERCF and Ocean NDC. His involvement in this field of work led PRP to establish its London office in 1994, which von Bradsky has helped to grow since its inception. He leads the practice's sustainability policy and oversaw the introduction of PRP Environmental Services, launched in 2007. As a consequence of this growth, PRP has since become one of the UK’s largest multi-disciplinary practices offering architecture, masterplanning, urban design, landscape architect, interior design, town planning, project management and environmental services.
Battersby also shares a long history with PRP. He joined PRP in 1986 and became a Board Director in 2000. He developed a particular interest in housing for older people and others with special needs and has been instrumental in establishing PRP’s reputation in the specialist housing sector – its extensive portfolio of projects for older people encompasses residential care and nursing homes, sheltered accommodation with extra care, resource centres and continuing care retirement villages as well as projects for people with learning and physical disabilities and sensory impairments.
Barry Munday and Chris Rudolf will continue to work with the practice as Consultants and to represent PRP on the Housing Forum, Constructing Excellence and other design and industry panels.
“As our clients have already noticed, Roger and I will continue to take a very ‘hands on’ approach in the business. We’re particularly committed to driving design excellence across the practice,” concluded von Bradsky.
