A masterplan

Client: Governors of Bishop Stopford School

Having successfully completed a new sports hall and science building at Bishop Stopford School, PRP produced a masterplan for the next phase of the school’s redevelopment. In partnership with the school and the London Borough of Enfield, PRP prepared and submitted a bid to the DfES for funding to implement the masterplan. The subsequent bid for Targeted Capital Funding was a success and PRP has now been commissioned to provide Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Employers Agent services to implement the plan.

The improvements to Bishop Stopford School include a new Design and Technology block, Sixth Form centre, dining and kitchen areas and improved reception and administrative accommodation. Improvements will also be made to external spaces and car parking arrangements.

The works will comprise partly new build and some remodelling of the existing buildings. A number of sustainability principles have been applied to the Design and Technology block to extend the life of the building and make it more energy efficient and easy to maintain.

The improvements to the new Sixth Form centre, dining and administrative facilities will help to upgrade the building and create a vibrant and attractive teaching and learning environment.
