L&Q Design Guide

Date: 2006

Aspirational book

Client: London & Quadrant Trust

The London and Quadrant Housing Trust approached PRP in 2005 to produce a Design Guide for them. Designed to be an aspirational book, this design guide serves as a tool to demonstrate L&Q’s commitment to quality design. It also provides guidance on how to meet L&Q’s quality criteria on housing design and includes logical design checklists for reference.

PRP’s in-house graphics team was brought on board to help; from commissioning the photography through to copywriting, artwork and production. The end result is a 126-page hard wearing square format book, broken down into three colour-coded sections for easy navigation, which uses a combination of strong images and detailed explanations to convey L&Q’s design guidelines.

Since January 2006, 1,500 copies have been distributed to the L&Q committee, board members, staff and affiliated architectural practices. Such was the success of the project that L&Q plan to produce additional copies and make the guide available to the wider industry by launching it in April 2006.
