The redevelopment of the Hawberry site provides 34 new sheltered flats and communal facilities for existing Islington sheltered residents. Successful completion of the building in spring 2004 has provided the impetus for a further 4 new schemes by Circle 33 following a sucessful transfer ballot at the end of 2003.
Two, at Brightwell Court and Cutbush House, are already on site. A further two, at Minerva Lodge and Duval House, are the subject of planning applications.
PRP have worked closely with Circle 33 and Willmott Dixon since the original competitive bid to Islington in 2001. The overall initiative, including extensive improvements to some existing schemes in addition to the 5 new build projects, will create a total of 330 units, all to Extra Care standard.
Continuous consultation with residents has been a key feature of this successful programme and PRP have gained valuable insights through the workshops and presentations that we have helped to organise.
